Participants-Profile: Christian Schnabel

I started my study of naval architecture in 2005 at the Hamburg University of Technology. My course specialisations are "ship design and development" and "marine engineering" but I also attend several additional lectures in hydrodynamics, ocean engineering and economics. I am looking forward to graduate in the next twelve month with the degree of the German Dipl. Ing.

I am a long-standing and active member of STG and campaign for the young academics and also member of the committee for "Instruction and continuation training in ship engineering". During my studies I have been a member of various committees such as Economic Council or the Student Council and always been very interested in getting more practical experience by taking in different views.

My hope from the excursion is to broaden my horizon of scientific work and gain firsthand experience of the different approaches used abroad and also gain knowledge about other production methods.
